Is Your Dog “Over 50”?

The age of dogs is dependent on body weight.  This table helps you determine your pet’s actual age in “human years”.
Like humans, older dogs are more likely to encounter health problems than younger pets.  That’s why a “Wellness Profile” can help us assess your pet’s current health, and provide a baseline for monitoring changes in the years ahead.

Protecting your pet—the first step is knowledge.

Our pets can’t tell us how they are feeling, only diagnostic testing can.  The Wellness Profile is the easiest and best way to get an overall picture of your pet’s health.  The Wellness Profile can provide you and your veterinarian with a clear picture of your animal’s overall health.  It can help identify problems early on so your pet can be diagnosed and properly treated; or , if all tests are normal, provide comforting peace of mind.  A negative heartworm result indicates your pet is free from this serious infestation and you can start them on preventative medication.

Dog Cookies

Dog Cookies
· 3 cups whole wheat flour
· 2 small cans dog food or cat food
· 1 egg
· 1 ½ to 2 cups liquid (I make sure it isn't to dry or to wet so you may have to make your own judgment as to how much liquid to use. I also use left over gravy or broth as the liquid).
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Stir together all ingredients and drop by spoonful on greased cookie sheet. Bake for  12-14 minutes. These can be stored in refrigerated and also frozen.
After these are cooled down I cut them into small pieces with kitchen shears then put them in freezer bags and store in the refrigerator.
